The reception for the National Art Premiere 2010 takes place February 5 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at the Elmhurst Artists' Guild Gallery of the Elmhurst Art Museum. The Whole Bed To Myself will be on exhibit along with selected works by forty or so artists throughout the U.S. Please visit the Elmhurst Artists' Guild and Elmhurst Art Museum websites for details and gallery hours.

Over the past two years, I’ve been keeping electronic tabs on a small handful of artists I discovered online, & whose work really knocks me out. While recently looking for new information, I stumbled onto a blogsite that includes images, interviews, & posts from some of these very artists (specifically David Jon Kassan and Kent Williams – check them out, they’re incredible!).  The site immediately became a resource for me. I was so excited and thanked Joel Carlo for creating it (thanks also to contributor & assistant administrator Chris Hatfield). To my surprise, Joel visited my website, responded with a very nice message, and asked if they could post some of my work. ABSOULTELY! I am very grateful to him for giving me this opportunity, and thrilled to be posting alongside such extraordinary figurative & portrait artists.

Best Friends Forever is one of 20 artworks chosen for reproduction in the West Chicago Cultural Arts Commission’s 2009 West Chicago Banner Exhibition . The banners will be displayed on Main Street in West Chicago May 1 through September 1. The artists’ reception takes place May 16, in conjunction with Blooming Fest ’09.

One of my paintings, The Color of the Day Is Red, has been selected for the juried 4th Annual National Self-Portrait Exhibition at 33 Collective Gallery June 20 through July 11. The opening reception takes place Friday, June 20, from 7:00 to 10:00 pm. 33 Collective Gallery is located on the first floor of the Zhou B. Center in Bridgeport. The address is 1029 W. 35th St. I hope you'll stop by to say hello!

I was recently invited to participate in the Spring '08 issue of Spry Magazine. Spry is a fantastic new online magazine featuring work of “starving artists,” and smartly written articles with fresh perspectives on all sorts of subjects. While you're there, check out the other artists, and do some reading! I’m officially a fan, and I am honored to have taken part. (Update: As of late 2009, it appears that the magazine is now defunct. It had a good run!)
